The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a short-term, independent, and strictly confidential service provided by Head Start Counselling & Psychology. Our program ensures employees and their immediate family members can access professional psychological and counselling support for personal, clinical or work-related issues that may impact wellbeing and job performance.
Employers can support their staff and become an employer of choice with an EAP. Our team includes registered psychologists and qualified counsellors, offering evidence-based support for concerns such as:
The EAP service aims to enhance mental health and wellbeing, maximise productivity and improve organisational culture.

This voluntary and confidential service can lead to improvements in workplace culture and an increase in staff morale, performance and productivity.
The EAP service is available 6-days a week, during and after business hours. The maximum number of sessions is negotiated with each employer but typically varies between 6-10 per person or family member, per calendar year.
Once a staff member has exhausted their free sessions, Head Start Counselling & Psychology will discuss options based on their personal circumstances. Quite often, employees will continue with therapy and personally cover the cost of their sessions.
Once an EAP agreement is in place, employees can book sessions directly and anonymously using the booking page.
